ENVELOPE at EuCNC & 6G Summit 2026: Driving Innovation in Programmable and AI-Native B5G/6G Networks

The ENVELOPE project participated in the EuCNC & 6G Summit 2026 in Málaga, Spain, contributing to technical discussions, demonstrations and workshop sessions related to programmable, intelligent and trustworthy B5G/6G networks.

Among the project’s contributions, Pavlos Basaras, Project Manager and Senior Researcher of the INS Team at I-SENSE/ICCS, participated in Workshop 14, “Towards 6G: Open APIs, Programmability and Experimentation in B5G/6G Networks”. During his presentation, “Advancing Automotive Vertical Innovation in ENVELOPE through API-Driven Network and Edge Programmability in B5G Systems”, he presented ENVELOPE’s work on network programmability, open APIs and edge computing, highlighting their role in supporting advanced automotive services and future connectivity solutions.

In parallel, ENVELOPE partners contributed to the conference through scientific publications, exhibition activities and technical demonstrations. At the project’s exhibition booth, participants had the opportunity to learn more about ENVELOPE’s work on AI-driven adaptation mechanisms for Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM) services, as well as experimentation activities carried out at the Dutch Trial Site, an environment supporting Network API validation and testing.

ENVELOPE was also featured in Special Session 7, “Cascaded Funding in SNS Programme: Accomplishments, Challenges and Future Potential”. As part of a panel on focused application areas, where Konstantinos Katsaros, Division Leader of the INS Team and Deputy Project Coordinator & Senior Researcher at I-SENSE/ICCS, presented the project’s work in Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM), highlighting how ENVELOPE contributes to the development and validation of innovative B5G/6G solutions within the broader SNS JU ecosystem. The session also explored the impact of SNS open calls and their role in fostering collaboration and innovation across Europe.

The project was also represented in discussions addressing topics such as AI-native networking, Network Digital Twins and collaboration across SNS JU projects. In addition, ENVELOPE partners participated in technical working groups focusing on architectural and security aspects of future communication networks.

The participation of ENVELOPE in EuCNC & 6G Summit 2026 provided an opportunity to share ongoing work, exchange perspectives with the wider research and innovation community, and strengthen collaboration within the SNS JU ecosystem.
