I- SENSE Group has once again demonstrated its commitment to pioneering advancements in transportation at the Transport Research Arena 2024 (TRA 2024) in Dublin. The team showcased its innovative projects, highlighting the group’s dedication to transforming transportation systems for a sustainable future.
DELPHI , a flagiship project in the field of logistics which aims at integrating passenger and freight mobility was represented by Margarita Kostovasili who delivered a paper presentation titled “Integrated passenger and freight transport: seamless door-to-door mobility and optimal use of resources.” This presentation underscored DELPHI’s goal of harmonizing data and leveraging advanced methodologies to revolutionize transportation systems. Moreover, DELPHI made its presence felt at ALICE’s booth, further amplifying its impact and reach within the transportation community. Finally, DELPHI engaged in the final event of FRONTIER and Orchestra2020 where ICCS’s representatives contributed to panel discussions, sharing insights on the future of traffic management.
Moreover, EVENTS project which is also coordinated by our Research Group in the field of CCAM, was represented at TRA from Bill Roungas who delivered a presentation on the poster “Collective perception hybrid testing in a roundabout scenario with AVs”. EVENTS aims to address complex situations that disrupt the normal operation of Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAVs), ultimately striving for safe and reliable automated driving. Dr. Angelos Amditis, Director of ISENSE Group, represented the SUNRISE project with a poster presentation on “Collective Perception Virtual Safety Validation in Urban Environments: Scenarios, Tools, Metrics.” SUNRISE, an ambitious Horizon Europe project, seeks to develop a harmonized and scalable CCAM Safety Assurance Framework.
PoDIUM project, represented by Lazaros Gkatzikis, participated in Special Session 4.4 focused on Physical and Digital Infrastructure for CCAM. Gkatzikis emphasized “Multi-connectivity as a technology enabler of advanced CCAM Services,” showcasing PoDIUM’s role in advancing digital infrastructure for future mobility.
Christina Anagnostopoulou, representing our team’s flagship e-mobility project eCharge4Drivers, shared insights into implementing Plug and Charge (PnC) technology during a European Commission lunch-time session focused on zero-emission vehicles. This session showcased eCharge4Drivers’ recent experiences within the European e-mobility ecosystem.
Lastly, John Kanellopoulos represented the PIONEERS project in a special session on the “Greening of Ports & Airports.” PIONEERS, an ambitious endeavor rethinking all aspects of port operations, aims to drive the green and digital transition of ports and airports through innovative demonstrators and collaborative models.
