On 6–7 October 2026, Athens will host Clusters Meet Regions 2026 – Attica, bringing together clusters, policymakers, researchers, industry leaders, SMEs, startups and innovators from across Europe to explore how stronger regional ecosystems can accelerate innovation, competitiveness and sustainable growth.
The event is organised by the European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP), on behalf of the European Commission, in collaboration with the Region of Attica, Attica Region Innovation Center and the Regional Development Fund of Attica. It will focus on the role of clusters in innovation uptake and commercialisation, SME growth and internationalisation, smart specialisation, interregional collaboration and integration into European value chains.
As part of the programme, I-SENSE Research Group of ICCS will host an exclusive Technical Visit to its Test Before Invest facility in Koropi on 7 October, welcoming participants from across Europe to experience first-hand a research infrastructure designed to bring advanced technologies closer to real-world application.
The visit will showcase I-SENSE/ICCS capabilities in areas including Artificial Intelligence, robotics, smart sensing and advanced digital technologies, demonstrating how research infrastructures can provide the bridge between research, industry and the market. It will offer an opportunity to exchange ideas, explore new collaborations and demonstrate how technologies can be tested, validated and demonstrated in near-real conditions before wider deployment.
Hosting this international audience also provides an important opportunity to highlight Koropi’s growing role as a European hub for applied research, experimentation and innovation, connecting research excellence with businesses, clusters and regional innovation ecosystems across Europe.
