The UniAI Makeathon 2026 successfully concluded after an inspiring three-day journey dedicated to Artificial Intelligence, innovation, collaboration, and creativity.
The I-SENSE Group / ICCS, represented by George Arvanitakis, our collaborator from the IISM team, participated in the event for the first time as a Platinum Sponsor, supporting an initiative that brought together students, young researchers, developers, and innovators from across Greece with the goal of developing AI solutions for real-world challenges.
Throughout the Makeathon, participants had the opportunity to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, attend workshops and mentoring sessions, and develop innovative concepts under intense but highly creative conditions. The atmosphere throughout the event reflected the energy and enthusiasm of a new generation eager to shape the future of technology and research.
A particularly proud moment for our team was seeing the challenge introduced and supported by I-SENSE Group achieve 2nd place among the final winning projects. The distinction highlighted not only the quality and dedication of the participating teams, but also the importance of connecting academic knowledge with real societal and technological challenges.
Members of the I-SENSE team actively contributed during the event through mentoring, discussions with participants, and support of the challenge process, engaging directly with students and young professionals who demonstrated exceptional talent, curiosity, and passion for innovation.
For I-SENSE, supporting initiatives that empower the next generation of researchers and scientists is more than a commitment — it is part of our vision. We strongly believe in the potential of young people and in creating opportunities where ideas, collaboration, and scientific ambition can grow into meaningful real-world impact.
We would like to warmly congratulate all participating teams, organizers, mentors, and volunteers for making this year’s Makeathon such a successful and inspiring experience. We look forward to supporting similar initiatives in the future and continuing to invest in the people who will shape tomorrow’s technological landscape.
