From 23 to 27 February, the TeamUP consortium conducted a comprehensive testing week in Ranst, Belgium, hosted at Campus Vesta, gathering more than 90 participants from 7 countries to evaluate over 20 CBRN-E technologies under operational conditions.
The Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS), through its I-SENSE Group, coordinates the project and oversees overall progress, quality assurance, risk management and data governance, while also leading the development of key technological solutions.
What took place during the testing week
The testing activities were focused on usability assessments by First Responders, evaluating handling, integration into workflows, and operational compatibility. In addition, selected technologies were deployed in a scenario-based Small-Scale Trial simulating a complex CBRN-E incident, assessing interoperability, coordination, and alignment with existing emergency procedures.
I-SENSE/ICCS Technologies Tested
The testing activities included validation of ICCS-developed solutions such as:
- Optimized Search & Rescue technologies ensuring First Responders’ health and safety
- Digital Victim Triage, Tracking & Tracing and Decontamination Monitoring systems
- Monitored, Smart and Fast Deployable Mass Decontamination Infrastructure
- Citizen Awareness and collaboration-enhancing tools
- Technologies supporting health monitoring of First Responders and digitally enhanced victim management
About TeamUP
