SINFONICA SC Meeting in Paris

The in-person Steering Committee meeting of the SINFONICA EU project took place earlier this week in Paris, hosted by project partner IRT SystemX. From Monday, March 17, to Tuesday, March 18, 2025, key stakeholders gathered to discuss the project’s final phases as it approaches completion in August.

While conclusions are yet to be drawn, the meeting provided an important opportunity to address the remaining tasks and explore potential future steps. One of the highlights of the two-day event was the demonstration of SINFONICA’s innovative simulation tool for CCAM deployment, alongside user testing of the SINFONICA Knowledge Map Explorer tool. The latter, developed under the leadership of the I-SENSE Group, will soon be released to enhance and facilitate the deployment of inclusive and accessible CCAM services.

Representing the I-SENSE Group at the meeting were Project Manager Konstantinos Fokeas and Software Developer Maira Krikochoriti who contributed to discussions on the Knowledge Map’s development and future impact.

The SINFONICA Knowledge Map is a pioneering tool designed to leverage mobility-related data to build a structured and comprehensive repository of user and stakeholder needs, requirements, expectations, and concerns. By integrating semantic technologies and ontologies, it provides practical guidelines and long-term recommendations. A special focus is placed on vulnerable and underrepresented groups, including women, disabled and elderly individuals, ethnic minorities, and those from low-income backgrounds or with varying levels of digital literacy. The Knowledge Map aims to bridge existing gaps in knowledge mapping and management, ultimately serving as an innovative decision-making resource for designers and policymakers to ensure the equitable and sustainable deployment of CCAM solutions.
