Saferguard was a three year long project co- funded by the European Union. It started in January 2001 and finished in December 2003. SAFEGUARD aimed to enhance the occupational safety of professional drivers (with emphasis on truck and agricultural machinery drivers by developing a new, reliable, modular and cost-effective methodology to assess both short-term (fatigue, workload, drowsiness) and long-term (back pain, spinal problems) impacts of vehicle seating to professional drivers’ health.
