Emmanouela Prassou holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) and a Master’s degree in Mathematical Modeling with a specialization in Data Science at the School of Applied Mathematics and Physical Sciences of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). As part of her thesis, conducted at the Remote Sensing Laboratory of the School of Rural and Surveying Engineering, she developed a deep learning-based methodology for the automatic detection of clouds in Sentinel-2 satellite imagery, with a specific focus on marine environments.
In June 2024, she participated in the IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS), where, in collaboration with the Remote Sensing Laboratory, she contributed to the presentation of a comparative study on cloud detection algorithms. She joined the I-Sense Group of ICCS in May 2025 as an assistant researcher.
