Dr. Xenofon Vasilakos received the MSc degree in Parallel and Distributed Computer Systems from Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam and the PhD degree in Informatics from the Athens University of Economics and Business. He is currently Project Manager & Senior Researcher as a member of the INS team in the I-SENSE Group of ICCS. Before that, he was a Lecturer in AI for digital infrastructures with the University of Bristol in the UK, and a Research Fellow in Eurecom, France. He has been awarded in the past with personal accolades and awards from institutions including IKY (Greece) and the LabEx excellence fellowship programme (France). He has participated in various EU and national research projects, as well as industry-funded projects (e.g., by Samsung Research UK or Thales UK). His current research interests include the design of natively intelligent novel 6G architectures, with an emphasis on Cloud and Edge infrastructures, by leveraging AI within the design of the architecture to achieve network automation and autonomy.
