Dr Panagiotis Agrafiotis holds an Engineering Doctorate, an M.Eng. in Rural & Surveying Engineering, and an M.Sc. in Geoinformatics from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), where he received multiple academic awards, travel grants, and a full PhD scholarship. His research spans 3D Computer Vision, Remote Sensing, Deep Learning, and Geospatial Data Science, focusing on Earth Observation applications, image-based mapping, satellite and UAV image analysis, diffusion-based super-resolution, learning-based restoration, multimodal and multitask learning, and large-scale self-supervised pretraining using MAEs and contrastive approaches. Over the past 13 years, he has worked across Germany, Greece, Cyprus, and Poland, contributing to or leading more than 17 EU-funded research projects in collaboration with top academic and research institutions. He served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at TU Berlin and BIFOLD, funded by the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship under the HORIZON EU Research & Innovation programme and has collaborated with leading European universities and research centers. He is now working as AI/ML Senior Researcher at the I-SENSE Group of the ICCS.
