The EU funded project, NextGen Water Solutions, within its lifetime, highlighted recovery and reuse policies, applying circular economy technological solutions in 10 European cities aiming to achieve environmental, social and economic benefits.
During the final event, held on October 20-21 in Athens to present the project’s results, more than 60 people from European organizations, research institutes and businesses participated. The participants had the opportunity to watch live the actions that took place in the city of Athens, specifically in a nursery of the Municipality of Athens, where the sewer mining solution was applied, based on which the water coming from the drainage is drained and treated in order to water the plants and produce compost.
