The I-SENSE Group of ICCS, coordinator of the RURBANIVE project, is proud to announce the six inspiring sub-projects selected through the RURBANIVE Open Call!
The RURBANIVE project brings together 17 partners from 8 countries and signifies a groundbreaking initiative to bridge the rural-urban gap. By harnessing immersive technologies, the project aims to not only address existing inequalities but also pave the way for a sustainable and inclusive future for all.
On 23 January 2025, RURBANIVE consortium launched an Open Call, aiming to fuel the growth of digital solutions for rural-urban synergies and to maximize project impact, aspiring to fund innovative and disruptive ideas that will help transform communities and boost the well-being and economy of rural-urban areas.
RURBANIVE Open Call far surpassed expectations, drawing 110 applications from across 25 countries and 6 projects were selected.
Each of these initiatives contributes to strengthening the rural-urban innovation ecosystem by addressing diverse societal, environmental, and economic challenges across Europe. Together, they foster collaboration, digital transformation, and sustainable growth in rural-urban regions.
The Selected Projects are:
- 0 – RURBAN SERVICES 4.0 – an AI-powered Marketplace for Rural Services
- OBEREK – Open Biodiversity and Ecosystem Restoration – Environment Monitoring and Knowledge Integration
- Build.ER – a circular AGRO-waste value chain for sustainable BUILDing sector and rural-urban synergies in Emilia-Romagna (Italy)
- RECIPE – Rural Empowerment & Culinary Innovations – A Participatory Ecosystem for Cultural Heritage
- TRAIL – Lycian Odyssey – an AI-Enhanced Smart Trekking for Sustainable Exploration
- RuralRide – Digital Carpooling Network for Rural Areas
These sub-projects embody RURBANIVE’s mission to bridge the rural-urban divide through innovation, inclusivity, and collaboration — ensuring that rural and urban communities can thrive together in a connected, sustainable Europe.
