TeamUP showcased in Brussels

The TeamUP innovative technologies were showcased by the project Coordinator, I-SENSE Group, at the ‘Projects to Policy Seminar’ organized by the European Research Executive Agency (REA) and DG HOME on June 25-26 in Belgium.

The TeamUP project is developing an innovative toolkit designed for detecting, identifying, and monitoring hazardous materials. This toolkit enhances efficient and safe Search and Rescue (SaR) operations using Augmented Reality (AR). It also includes technologies for monitoring First Responders’ health, digital triage, breath analysis for victims, and a fast Deployable Mass Decontamination System. Additionally, it offers an Incident Management and digital Training Tool for First Responders and citizens, bolstering overall preparedness and response.

Our Eleftherios Ouzounoglou, CMSS Technical Management Advisory at ISense, and JOIN, the project’s Dissemination Manager, represented the project, highlighting the advantages and functionalities of TeamUP technologies. Their contributions enriched policy discussions and facilitated knowledge exchange among participating projects.

During the event, participants engaged in focused discussions across four thematic areas:

  • Fighting Crime and Terrorism & Critical Infrastructure (FCT/INFRA)
  • Strengthened Security Research and Innovation (SSRI)
  • Disaster-Resilient Societies (DRS)
  • Border Management (BM)

Every year, the European Research Executive Agency (REA) and the Directorate-General for Migration and Home Affairs (DG HOME) organize the Projects to Policy Seminar (PPS). Coordinators of newly launched civil security research projects are invited to this event. The in-person seminar is structured into breakout sessions, preceded by a plenary with several presentations of general interest.

The aim of PPS is to raise awareness among relevant policy Directorates-General about new projects and provide guidance on the policy-related outputs these Directorates-General are interested in.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to innovate and enhance safety and security through our cutting-edge technologies!
