The SHOW (SHared automation Operating models for Worldwide adoption) project, a flagship EU funded initiative bringing together 80 partners, concluded its journey with a final event in the city of Trikala, Greece, on Monday, September 9, 2024. With the public pilot phase in Trikala starting in December 2022, this pioneering project has significantly advanced the development and adoption of autonomous driving technologies across Europe.
During the event, SHOW’s Trikala pilot consortium partners, coordinated by ICCS – NTUA , showcased the project’s key outcomes and the real operation of a fleet of eight autonomous vehicles for passenger and goods transportation, offering insights into the future of shared and automated mobility. Attendees had the opportunity to experience firsthand the capabilities of autonomous driving, marking a milestone in Europe’s transition towards smart mobility solutions.

The Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS – NTUA ) led the Greek pilot in close collaboration with Etrikala S.A., University of Genova, and Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH). ICCS continues to drive innovation in Trikala and beyond in the automated driving and smart mobility sector through new EU-funded projects such as IN2CCAM, ELABORATOR Project and SINFONICA Project, reinforcing Greece’s role as a key player in the global mobility transformation.
With SHOW’s successful conclusion, the road ahead promises even greater advancements in connected and automated mobility, paving the way for smarter, safer, and more sustainable transportation solutions.
