We are proud to announce that Christina Anagnostopoulou, Senior Researcher at the I-SENSE Group of ICCS – NTUA, serves on the IDI Steering Committee.
As one of the founding members of IDI (ITS-Driven Innovative Aerial Services), ICCS plays a key role in bridging ground and air mobility innovation. Through a strong portfolio of EU and nationally funded projects, the I-SENSE Group develops advanced solutions in intelligent transport systems, cooperative, connected and automated mobility, smart mobility applications, intelligent networks and multimodal logistics, including maritime operations. This work accelerates automation, electromobility, Mobility-as-a-Service and 5G/6G-enabled connectivity, contributing to secure, integrated and future-ready mobility ecosystems.
The IDI platform was established to foster collaboration across industry, research and public authorities, with the aim of accelerating the safe and scalable integration of drones into mobility and logistics ecosystems. From its formation, ICCS has actively contributed to shaping IDI’s strategic direction, bringing expertise in connected and automated mobility, systems integration and large-scale pilots that bridge air and ground operations.
Christina’s participation further strengthens our contribution to IDI’s mission and reflects I-SENSE’s commitment to shaping the next generation of integrated mobility systems.
MORE ABOUT IDI
The IDI Platform will address a broad spectrum of services, from individual travel information and adaptive traffic management to city operations such as emergency medical services and surveillance of critical infrastructure, and connectivity of remote areas. It will also seek to facilitate the sharing and protection of data, particularly in the realm of traffic management, and ensure convergence and alignment with cross-sectoral regulatory frameworks. A key focus will be placed on the adoption and development of standards and the integration of drones and aerial mobility into existing infrastructure. Objectives:
- Facilitate multi-stakeholder collaboration to drive the deployment of ITS-driven IAS solutions.
- Address regulatory, technological, environmental, and societal challenges linked to aerial mobility by leveraging on ITS advances.
- Promote the harmonisation of cross-sectoral standards and multilevel governance frameworks to enable responsible and sustainable IAS growth.
- Explore and facilitate collaborative business innovation through public-private partnerships.
- Establish local living labs to serve as pre-commercial fieldwork for introducing and scaling commercial deployment of IAS.
The launch of the IDI Platform marks an important step towards the realisation of improved public services and a more connected and integrated transport system.
