The great celebration of science and research, which brings the public closer to the country’s research teams every year, took place on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the NTUA Zografou Campus. European Researcher’s Night offers a unique opportunity for research teams to showcase their work, present innovative technologies, and demonstrate real-world applications that can make a meaningful impact on society.
This year, the I-SENSE Group had a particularly active presence, presenting a series of interactive demonstrations and applications highlighting the role of research and innovation in everyday life.
Visitors had the opportunity to explore and walk around Greek Archaeological sites, including the archaeological site of Delos, through VR equipment. They could also discover a robotic rescue dog, developed within the 6G-VERSUS project, capable of entering hard-to-reach areas, streaming live video, locating missing persons, and delivering first aid.
Another highlight was the Digital Triage Toolkit, an integrated solution developed by ICCS within the framework of the European TeamUp project to support the identification, triage, tracking and monitoring of victims during mass-casualty and CBRN-E incidents. The system combines a Digital Triage Tag, mobile application and web-based dashboard, enabling unique victim identification, triage status and vital-sign monitoring, registration of interventions such as decontamination and medication, and centralised data management and decision support.
Additionally, visitors had the chance to learn more about recycling practices through Immerge, an augmented reality application, and to discover an innovative breath-analysis sensor capable of detecting dangerous gases, supporting food-quality monitoring, and even identifying potential health-related indicators through breath analysis. The sensor has been developed within the scope of the AMUSENS project.
The researchers representing the I-SENSE Group at Researcher’s Night were Konstantinos Koukoudis, Giannis Mytis, Stefanos Chatzimichelakis, Pavlos Koukio, Panagiotis Sakaridis, Angie Kantzou, Irini Krimpa, and Agathi Bardaki.
Dr. Angelos Amditis, Director and Founder of the I-SENSE Group, and Dr. Giannis Karaseitanidis, Technical Director of the I-SENSE Group, were also present throughout the event, supporting the initiative and the team’s efforts.
