From April 4–6, I-SENSE Group / ICCS participated in one of the most vibrant and future-focused technology events in the region — BEYOND Expo 2025, held in Athens, Greece.
Since its launch in 2021, BEYOND Expo has become the leading international exhibition for digital technology and innovation in southeastern Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Middle East. It brings together top minds, pioneering companies, and groundbreaking technologies.
Throughout the three-day event, I-SENSE Group welcomed hundreds of visitors to Hall 4 – Stand B08, showcasing cutting-edge research, EU-funded projects, and the impactful work of our spin-offs — CIBOS Innovation and CogniSensus. Their presence highlighted the powerful bridge between scientific excellence and market-driven innovation — turning ideas into real-world solutions.
As part of the Beyond 2025 Forum, Dr. Amditis participated on a panel discussion raised the question “Who holds the reins in the age of Artificial Intelligence — the innovators, the regulators, or the users?”. This sparked lively dialogue on ethics, responsibility, and regulation, with reference to the EU AI Act and its mission to safeguard citizens’ rights while supporting innovation.
We were honored to meet Apostolos Tzitzikostas, European Commissioner for Transport, and exchange insights on the future of AI-driven mobility.
Two key sessions, organized by the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and THEAthens Startup Business Incubator, featured standout contributions from the I-SENSE team:
- George Megas, Head of Innovation & Networking, shared a visionary talk in the panel

He addressed the paradigm shift from hypothesis-driven research to data-powered pattern recognition, the rise of human augmentation, and the need for a new ethical and philosophical foundation in tech governance.
- Eleftherios Ouzounoglou, Supervisor of Health Technologies – CMSS, contributed to the panel “Research and AI”, offering valuable perspectives on the interplay between innovation and real-world AI applications.
