Automated Vehicles (AVs) are a game-changing evolution in personal mobility, however, design guidelines for highway and traffic engineers remain silent on the question. On account of their long lifespan, current and future road infrastructure assets will increasingly need to factor changing needs to support the future deployment of AVs.
The IRF Workshop that took place in the frame of INTERTRAFFIC Amsterdam focused on ‘Recommendations for infrastructure adaptations from research’. Christina Anagnostopoulou, I-SENSE group’s technical manager presented ICCS’s background in the field and issues regarding ISAD classes, methodology and ICT infrastructure architecture that underline the transition towards higher levels of automation. The Workshop took place on 31st March 2022. Find more about the workshop’s agenda. https://www.intertraffic.com/amsterdam/programme/
