From Ergon-XR to Ergon-Pick: Advancing the Future of XR Training in Manufacturing

We are delighted to announce the successful completion of Ergon-XR, a pioneering project led by the I-SENSE Group and CIBOS, and one of the winning initiatives of the MASTER-XR Open Call.

Ergon-XR set out to revolutionize training in automated manufacturing through the use of Extended Reality (XR) technology. The project developed safe, immersive virtual environments where trainees can interact with industrial equipment—such as conveyors and collaborative robots—without exposure to real-world risks. By emphasizing ergonomics and safety, Ergon-XR enhances both workforce efficiency and well-being, transforming how workers prepare for real manufacturing scenarios.

Following the success of Ergon-XR, the Ergon-Pick project now takes the stage to build upon its foundations. Ergon-Pick continues advancing XR-based training, this time focusing on human-robot collaborative picking lines. It will develop immersive training scenarios for the VIROO platform, utilizing the Ergon-XR tool to prepare workers for seamless collaboration with robotic systems in shared workspaces that prioritize health and safety.

The project will create interactive XR training modules that teach ergonomics best practices within automated manufacturing environments featuring robots and conveyors.
