A new European funded project, CULTUR.ACT officially kicked off in Milan on the 9-10 September 2026, bringing together 15 partners from 7 countries to work together on the development of a European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage alongside complementary initiatives in order to provide Cultural Heritage Institutions and Cultural and Creative Industries with valuable, open, commonly accessible tools and resources that will fundamentally change the ways the European tangible and intangible cultural heritage in conserved, interconnected, shared, enhanced, re-used and ultimately experienced by the public.
The I-SENSE Group is leading Work Package 3 which is responsible for Testing Innovation – Use Cases Integration, Early Tests of Enabling Tools and Applications and Methodologies. Our team will be coordinating and organizing the activities across all planned Living Labs at the participating Cultural Heritage institutions, establishing a common operational framework and shared methodology for the pilot activities.
This includes supporting the engagement of local stakeholders and end users, coordinating local activity and trial planning, and establishing common approaches for data collection, monitoring and evaluation. The WP will define shared KPIs and data-collection tools, including user feedback, application usage monitoring and logbooks, ensuring that results and observations are collected consistently across the different Living Labs.
Our main objective is to test the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage tools in real-world Cultural Heritage environments, such as museums, and collect structured feedback from their use. This feedback will support the refinement, configuration and further development of tools based on the ECCCH and enabling applications, preparing them for the second pilot phase in WP5, which will also be led by I-SENSE Group. The work will therefore establish a continuous test–evaluate–refine cycle, supporting the effective deployment and uptake of European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage solutions in Cultural Heritage settings.
