Beyond Simulation: Ergon-Pick project Moves to Validation Process

Building on the strong foundation of Ergon‑XR project, the Ergon‑Pick initiative—led by our Research Group in collaboration with CIBOS Innovation and recognized as one of the winning initiatives of the Master XR Open Call—is now entering the critical validation phase of its technological advancements.

Ergon-Pick focuses on delivering next-generation training for human-robot collaborative picking lines through immersive Extended Reality. By developing realistic, interactive training scenarios for the VIROO platform using the Ergon-XR tool, the project empowers workers to build competence, and safety awareness in shared human-machine environments. With its implementation and integration phases successfully completed, Ergon-Pick now advances toward validating its impact in real-world industrial contexts.

As Industry 5.0 technologies accelerate across manufacturing, they bring both opportunity and responsibility. Alongside productivity gains, organizations must address emerging ergonomic challenges, evolving worker roles, and the need to safeguard well-being. Ergon-Pick and Ergon-XR respond to this challenge by creating safe, immersive virtual environments where trainees can interact with advanced manufacturing systems without real-world risks. By prioritizing ergonomics, safety, and user-centered design, the project contributes to more effective training while promoting healthier, more resilient, and future-ready workplaces.
