ISENSE Group participation at the Eco-Fest 2020 event

The ISENSE Group of ICCS had the opportunity to participate in the exhibition of the Eco-Fest 2020 event, that took place from 18 to 20 January 2020, in Technopolis, Athens.

The event was a three days celebration of Green Cities, Sustainable development and Electromobility, areas that ISENSE Group is working on extensively the past few years and has to display several innovative solutions and ongoing R&D activities.

On this occasion, our demonstrations were focused on the work currently conducted towards a greener and more sustainable mobility and specifically on the activities taking place within the framework of two important EU-funded H2020 projects, coordinated by the ISENSE Group's Director, Dr. Angelos Amditis, the Elviten project and the recently awardedNeMo project.

Both projects’ advances boosts electromobility deployment by addressing a number of challenges currently delay the wider use of different types of Electric Vehicles. ELVITEN demonstrates the usefulness of light electrified vehicles for urban transportation giving a focus on bicycles, scooters, tricycles and quadricycles (EL-VS) while NeMo deals with issues related to the interoperability of electromobility apps and services through its already created Hyper-Network for Electromobility.

During the Eco-fest 2020 exhibition, the ISENSE demonstrations draw also the attention of numerous attendees and several policy makers, as the Minister of Environment and Energy, Mr. Kostis Hantzidakis, the Minister of Education and Religious Affairs, Mrs. Niki Kerameus and the Athens’s Mayor, Mr. Bakogiannis. The later, during their visit on the ISENSE Group stand, were thoroughly informed about the ELVITEN and NeMo advances, some of their preliminary and final outcomes, the impact such electromobility EU initiatives have for the European transport sector and how Greece could be benefitted from its participation at both projects, taking also into consideration the ongoing piloting of Light Electric Vehicles in the city of Trikala.
