Dr. Siobhan Brushett received her BSc degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology (2014) and her BMedSci (Hons) degree in Human Genetics (awarded cum laude; 2015) from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. She also holds a Master’s degree in Molecular Medicine and Innovative Treatment (awarded cum laude; 2019) and a PhD degree (2024) from the University of Groningen (RUG) in the Netherlands. Her PhD focused on the relations of the gut microbiome, diet and health outcomes at different stages of human life.

From 2023 to 2025, she worked as a Proposal Coordinator, Researcher and Project Manager at the Prolepsis Institute in Athens, Greece. Dr. Brushett is passionate about research that connects science with real-life health needs and that contributes meaningfully to the lives of others.
