On 4–5 June 2025, the Hi-Drive consortium came together in sunny Vouliagmeni, Athens, for its 3rd and final General Assembly. With the project’s conclusion in sight, partners from across Europe gathered to reflect, align, and plan the final stretch of this journey toward safer, smarter automated driving.
A key milestone on the agenda was the Hi-Drive Final Event, now officially set for 25 November 2025. The consortium focused on shaping the event’s concept and narrative — aiming to showcase the project’s broad range of achievements in a compelling storyline. With all work packages aligned and the final activities underway, Hi-Drive is entering its last phase with strong momentum. The project is well positioned for a successful conclusion, thanks to the commitment and collaboration of all partners.
The meeting was also a chance for our I-SENSEGroup/ICCS team to welcome the consortium once more to Athens. Our Director and R&D Director of ICCS, Dr. Angelos Amditis opened the meeting with a warm welcome before presenting the latest progress on the project’s Operational Testing and Data Collection. He was followed by our Executive Office Technical Manager, Christina Anagnostopoulou who shared insights on the 45 Hi-Drive operations conducted by 20 teams, testing advanced hashtag functions on open roads and test tracks, counting more than 6000 test runs, 27000km and 1800 participants across Europe.
Panagiotis Pantazopoulos shared developments on technological enablers, particularly in cybersecurity and hazard awareness, while Anastasia Bolovinou presented preliminary results on the technical evaluation of Hi-Drive’s novel AD Functions, integrating numerous technology enablers in various traffic scenarios and ODDs, and tested both in test tracks and on public roads.
Also representing ICCS were Evangelia Portouli, Evangelia (Geli) Latsa, and Sevi Christoforou, with valuable support from Christina Xarcha behind the scenes.A special thanks goes to EICT GmbH and Volkswagen Group for the impeccable organisation and seamless coordination.
