Our Unit, I-SENSE Group, participated in the European Civil Protection Forum, representing the European projects TeamUP and NIGHTINGALE, in a joint booth with the Med1stMR project. The event took place in Brussels on 4 and 5 June, becoming a hub for knowledge exchange, collaboration and networking among experts in the field of disaster risk management and European civil protection.
During the two days of the 8th European Civil Protection Forum 2024 a diverse series of sessions took place as panel discussions and interactive workshops, while visitors had the opportunity to visit the exhibition area with the participation of more than 40 exhibition stands of protection professionals. This year the event had the slogan “Shaping a disaster-resilient Union: Charting a path for the future of European civil protection” and brought together more than 1500 protection professionals, including researchers, companies active in the field of crisis prevention, management and response, as well as policy makers. This year’s event was the largest ever in terms of attendance and marked a pivotal moment for civil protection in Europe.
Our team, as coordinator of the TeamUP and NIGHTINGALE projects, was represented by Eleftherios Ouzounoglou, CMSS Technical Management Advisory and Katerina Valouma, Project Manager, who presented the advanced technologies being developed in the projects related to CBRN-E and Disaster Medicine.
