Industrial-Urban symbiosis (I-US) involves municipalities and regions cooperating with industries on the management of resources, waste, energy, water, infrastructures, services, transportation and networks.
The Horizon Europe Theseus project – with the crucial support and funding from HaDEA- comprised by a consortium of 52 esteemed partners, will establish Greece’s first-ever Hub for Circularity (H4C), beginning in the Attica region and with the ambition to extend nationwide. This initiative is designed to contribute to achieving climate neutrality by 2050, in line with the objectives of the Partnership for Progress (P4P) and key Circular Economy principles.
The Theseus project will focus on validating and developing innovative solutions for water, energy, and materials, using advanced digital and robotic technologies tailored to regional needs. Through the creation of a dynamic and collaborative ecosystem, we will implement large-scale demonstrators of circular economy and industrial-urban symbiosis across multiple Greek regions. This effort will not only support sustainable development but also inspire similar initiatives across Europe.
