Dr. Katerina Valouma is a Rural and Surveying Engineer graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh). She holds a MSc in Environmental Engineering and a Ph.D. from the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Crete, specializing in Hazardous and Toxic Waste Management.
During her postgraduate studies, she actively participated as a scientific associate in European and National research programs focusing on hazardous waste management and the development of innovative solutions for recycling Construction and Demolition Waste, as well as hazardous and industrial waste. She has professional experience in civil engineering projects with a specific focus in safety studies and environmental impact assessments for oil and gas infrastructure.
Since 2020, she has been involved in research projects in the field of Crisis Management, specifically in areas such as Critical Infrastructure Protection, Crisis Management, and Natural Disasters, including adaptation to Climate Change. She has published relevant articles in scientific journals and proceedings of scientific conferences.
