Dr. Efthymios Papachristos holds a diploma in Mineral Resources Engineering (Technical University of Crete) and an MSc. in Geomechanics, Civil Engineering and Risks (University Grenoble Alpes). He has obtained his Ph.D., funded by TOTAL S.A, from the University Grenoble Alpes. He has worked as a post-doctoral researcher at several universities and grandes ecoles in France (UGA, ENPC, ECN), where he conducted research in the domains of oil&gas and geothermal energy, granular physics and earthquake control. He has authored more than 20 peer-reviewed publications at scientific journals and international conference proceedings. He joined I-SENSE group as a Scientific Project Manager in December 2023.

His current scientific interests include the fusion of artificial intelligence with novel numerical methods for energy production, materials science and resilience to natural hazards, for a more sustainable future.
