Dimitra D.  Dionysiou is a Senior Researcher and Scientific Project Manager at the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS), National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). She is currently the Head of the Division of Health Technologies of the I-SENSE Group of ICCS. She holds a diploma/MSc degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering (1998), a PhD in Biomedical Technology (2004), and an MSc in Bioinformatics (2007). She has been involved for many years in the development of technologies in the health domain mainly within the framework of EC-funded H2020 and Horizon Europe projects (e.g., ONCOSCREEN, ONCODIR, HEALTHY SAILING, NIGHTINGALE, BOUNCE, CHIC, DrTherapat, MyHealthAvatar, Contra Cancrum, TUMOR, p-medicine, ACGT). Her research interests include digital health, personalized medicine, machine learning, mathematical modelling and decision support systems in healthcare, as well as technologies for first responders. She has co-authored several peer-reviewed articles and served multiple times as an independent expert evaluator of the European Commission for EU-funded proposals, and as a reviewer for various journal publications. She is a trained member of the Ethics Expert group of the European Commission for Horizon Europe.
