Dr. Lefteris Gounaridis received a B.Sc. from the Physics Department of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA) in 2010 and a Ph.D. in Photonic Integrated Technology applied to interferometric hybrid sensors from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2021.
He has participated in several EU-funded research projects (FP7, H2020, HE), such as BIOCDx, Aqua3S, S4AllCities, 3PEAT, LOLIPOP, and PHOREVER, serving as a scientific researcher and program manager. He has published over 30 scientific articles, accumulating more than 372 citations, and holds two patents as a co-author. His research focuses on the design of passive photonic components, photonic and optical (bio)sensors, spectroscopic sensors, and photonic integration.
Since September 2013, Lefteris has been a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) and, as of January 2025, he serves as a Scientific Project Manager in the I-SENSE Group.
