Ο Δρ. Άγγελος Αμδίτης is Research Director (Researcher Aʼ), in the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems of NTUA, and member of ITS Board of Directors. In June 2018 he became the ERTICO Chairman while he has been a member of the ERTICO Supervisory Board since 2013. He is the Vice President and one of the founding members of ITS Hellas, where he also served as a President from 2012 to 2016. He was one of the initiators of the EuroVR and its President from September 2010 till March 2016. He is now a member of the Steering Committee and holds the position of the Vice-President of the Association. He is the Deputy Chairman and a Member of the Board of Directors at Athens Urban Transport Organisation (OASA) and a member of the Board of Directors of the Athens Water Supply and Sewerage Company (EYDAP S.A.).  He is the National Representative of Greece at EU on Co-operative Connected and Automated Transport and Mobility (C-ITS and CCAM) and a member of the Executive Group of ALICE, the Alliance for Logistics Innovation through Collaboration in Europe (ETP LOGISTICS). Since May 2019 he is the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Hellenic Port Community System (HPCS) of the Piraeus Container Terminal S.A. (PCT). He is participating at the UITP (Union Internationale des Transports Publics), the Digital Transport and Logistics Forum of the European Commission, the eSafety Observers network and of the Nomadic Devices Forum (where he has served also as Secretary), the  Trilateral WG on Automation, the euRobotics, SENSORIS, WssTP, and ERTRAC Platforms and the AIOTI Association and many other EC Groups and Platforms. He is the writer of several peer reviewed journal articles, book chapters and more than 180 conference papers. His current research interests are in the fields of ITS include Automated Transport Systems, Cooperative Systems, Electromobility, Smart Mobility both for people and cargo (ITS for Logistics), cooperative systems, sensor and information fusion, data management/aggregation, communication technologies, highly and fully automated driving and embedded systems, vehicle to grid connectivity and charging optimization strategies, control algorithms, human machine interaction, smart mobility for people and freight (ITS for Logistics) and FOTs. He is also quite active on Internet related research (IoT, Cloud services etc.) and in the fields of Sensors for monitoring purposes, Telematics, Telecommunications Systems, EMC/EMI, Electromagnetic sensors,  etc. He has participated in a large number of Research projects being the scientific responsible of more than 120 European and national R&D projects in the last 17 years and currently he is the coordinator of the following projects: HYPERION(newly accepted), COREALIS (https://www.corealis.eu/ ), ICT4CART (https://www.ict4cart.eu/), RESIST (http://resistproject.eu/ ) , ELVITEN (http://www.elviten-project.eu/), IN-PREP (http://www.in-prep.eu/), SAFERtec (http://www.safertec-project.eu/), PLUGGY (https://www.pluggy-project.eu/), SCENT (https://scent-project.eu/), NeMo (http://nemo-emobility.eu), while he has successfully coordinated FABRIC (www.fabric-project.eu), RECONASS (http://reconass.eu/ ) ROBO-SPECT (http://www.robo-spect.eu/ ), Autonet2030 (http://www.autonet2030.eu/ ) INACHUS (http://www.inachus.eu), SENSKIN (http://www.senskin.eu),INTE-TRANSIT and AQUAKNIGHT projects.
