Stefania Giannikou

Stefania Giannikou has obtained her Diploma degree in Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). In her Thesis she focused on the field of Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetic Modeling and Model Predictive Control. She also holds an MSc. in Digital Anthropology from the University College London (UCL, UK), where she did extensive research in the field of human-computer interaction combining technical understanding of digital systems with anthropological research methods. She has served as senior IT consultant, business analyst, requirements engineer and project manager in various ICT related European projects, and has also experience in the design and operation of water treatment plants, wind farms as well as in the media production industry.
Stefania joined ICCS/i-sense Group in 2020 working as Project Manager for European projects in the field of Crisis Management and Security.


Dr. Evangelos Karfopoulos

KarfopoulosDr. Evangelos Karfopoulos received the Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the NTUA in 2006. He received the PhD degree for his research on the "Optimal Management of Electric Vehicles for their efficient and effective integration into electricity networks" (NTUA, 2017). From 2008-2019, he worked as senior researcher at ICCS in the e-mobility area, distributed optimization and java programming. He has actively participated in several European projects undertaking the role of Technical Coordinator in many of them, and national projects with HEDNO. He has been employed by the PPC and the HEDNO as researcher on e-mobility aspects and metering specifications. Moreover, he was external consultant of the HEDNO for e-mobility aspects (2016-2019) developing the technical specifications for public charging stations as well as an OCPP 1.6 compliant EVSE platform. Furthermore, he served as Senior Researcher at Intracom-Telecom focusing on distributed energy flexibility markets. He served as a tutor in (Asymmetric) Power System Analysis courses in ECE-NTUA. He has published a number of articles in scientific journals and conferences with more than 700 citations. Currently, he is serving as Senior Project Manager at I-SNESE research group, NTUA.


Angie Kantzou

Angie Kantzou is currently studying Greek Civilization at the Hellenic Open Univercity. She was an employer at the accounting departement of ICCS (2002-2012). She has been the owner of an event planning business (2012-2020).

Iasonas Sioutis

sioutisIasonas Sioutis is an experienced Electrical Engineer with a project management background in ICT, sustainable energy, construction and sales. He obtained his MSc in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a focus on Energy systems and Telecommunications from Patras University in 2013 and in 2018 he acquired the title of the MBA from the IE Business School of Madrid. He has a history of working with multinational and diverse teams displaying high analytical skills and adaptability to meet the needs of the team and the project. He possesses wide knowledge over information technology and market technology trends and has extensive project management experience in the above-mentioned sectors. Mr. Sioutis has served as a work package leader, a task leader and member of the project management committee in a number of H2020 projects (including 5G-PPP projects) focusing on functional technical architecture, market analysis, business modelling and techno-economic analysis.


Dimitra Tsiakou

Tsiakou 2Dimitra Tsiakou has obtained her Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering from Democritus University of Thrace in 2018 and her MSc on Hydraulics and Environmental Engineering in 2020. She is majored in Management of Water Resources and Natural Disasters and her diploma thesis was about the Assessment of Present and Future Drought Conditions. Her scientific interests include: Environmental applications, Integrated Management of Natural Hazards and Multi-criteria models in Water Resources Management. She is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece since 2018. Dimitra Tsiakou joined the I-Sense Group of ICCS in June 2020 and she is currently working as a Research Project Manager.


Dr. Konstantinos Naskou

Photo NaskouDr. Konstantinos Naskou is a Senior Researcher / Project Manager in the I-SENSE research group at ICCS. He has a PhD degree in Photogrammetric Computer Vision from the University of Nottingham and was awarded a scholarship from the EPSRC and the English Institute of Sport. He also has a MSc in Geoinformatics and a MEng in Surveying Engineering from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. As the Project Information Manager for large infrastructure projects he has been focusing on Building Information Modelling and developing Virtual Design and Construction processes. Konstantinos has extensive experience in leading and managing geomatics projects and he is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece since 2005. His research interests include: infrastructure computer vision; digital twins; smart cities and intelligent transport systems; geospatial data fusion and analysis; health, safety and environmental monitoring of construction sites using terrestrial and airborne sensors; automating the scan-to-BIM process for construction as-built and cultural heritage site documentation.


Anna Maria Metheniti

anna mariaAnna Maria Metheniti holds an MEng in Civil from the University of Surrey (U.K.) and a master degree in Earthquake Engineering with Disaster Management from the University College London (U.C.L., U.K.). She has conducted research for four years at the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering of U.C.L. in the field of structural health monitoring (SHM). Since 2014 she has worked as a project/site engineer at Balfour Beatty for the Crossrail project in London. Anna Maria joined ICCS/i-sense group in 2020 working as a Senior Researcher / Project Manager in Crisis Management.

Pavlos Basaras

basarasDr. Pavlos Basaras received his BSc/MSc degrees from the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Thessaly, Volos, Greece, on 2011 and 2013, respectively. He then pursued and received his PhD degree in 2017 from the same department. During his PhD, he also worked at the Centre of Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), in NITLAB, a network implementation testbed research lab, with focus on cellular communications. From 2018 to 2020 he was a postdoctoral research fellow at Trinity College Dublin, the School of Computer Science and Statistics, in collaboration with Nokia Bell Laboratories, Dublin, Ireland. His research interests focus on computer networking and wireless systems. He is experienced in transport layer protocols, broadcast/multicast communications with applications in video/TV services, and wireless network optimization.

Margarita Kostovasili

KostovasiliMargarita Kostovasili is a Transport Engineer/Consultant with 5+ years of experience in the management and delivery of infrastructure projects and programmes. She holds an M.Eng in Rural & Surveying Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA, 2014) and she has also attended an Internship in Photogrammetry and Transport Planning in the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV, 2013). Her scientific interests are transport planning and modelling, focusing on data analysis, driving behaviour and traffic simulation, combined with information technology and applications. Working as a Transport Consultant since 2016, she has gained significant exposure in management consulting practice, providing operational support and services to various clients across Europe. She has participated in several EC FP7 and H2020 research projects in the fields of Intelligent Transport Systems, Smart Mobility, Security and ICT. She joined the I-Sense Group of ICCS in 2020 and she is currently working as a Scientific Project Manager in R&D projects.

Katerina Karagiannopoulou

KaragiannopoulouKaterina Karagiannopoulou holds a bachelor degree in Geography and a MSc in Geoinformatics, both received from Harokopio University of Athens. Also, she is currently attending the “Web Developer” e-learning program at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has been involved in the implementation and the delivery of EU funded projects, which were emphasized in the Environmental Risk Management and Sustainable Development policies. Her scientific interests include: Earth Observation and Image Processing methods, Environmental applications and mineral exploration on terrestrial environment. Katerina Karagiannopoulou is now working as a Scientific Project Manager, member of the Smart Integrated Systems & Communication Team of the I-SENSE group of ICCS.
