Nikos Maragos

Nikos MaragosNikos Maragos received his diploma degree from the School of Applied Mathematical & Physical Sciences of NTUA in 2005 and his Ph.D. (NTUA) in High Energy Physics and Lasers in 2014. He continued working as a post-Doctoral researcher in NCSR Demokritos until 2016. After that he worked for a while as a full-stack web developer. He joined the I-Sense Group of ICCS in June 2018 as an automotive software engineer.

Dr. Antonis Kalis

Antonis KalisDr. Antonis Kalis is working with ICCS since January 2020. He has previously been employed as an adjunct professor at Carnegie Mellon University, an Associate Professor in Athens Information Technology, and a visiting scientist in the Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya. He has numerous journal and conference publications, IEEE tutorials and invited talks (e.g. in Bell Labs, Princeton, Carnegie Mellon University, etc.), a US patent, a Marconi paper award nomination, and the 2000 Chester Sall Memorial award of the Consumer Electronics Society.

From May 2012 to November 2018 he served as the Head of R&D of SignalGeneriX Lld, and as the technical director of Lynceus and Lynceus2Market, two EU projects on large passenger ship safety, coordinating research, development, manufacturing and integration activities, and acting as the projects’ spokesman in several occasions, including a Euronews Futuris documentary and a TEDx invited talk. The system developed through these projects was awarded the prestigious Lloyd’s List Global Innovation Award in 2014.

Dimitrios Karamitros

avatar small dimitris karamitrosDimitrios Karamitros received his B.Sc. from the School of Electronics Engineers of the University of Western Attica in 2004. He received his M.Sc. from the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2009, in the Telecommunications and Networks Systems domain. Before joining ICCS as a member of the I-SENSE group, he has been working as a Software Engineer in the private sector for almost 10 years; began his career as an Oracle PL/SQL developer and later went on to work as a Full Stack Software Engineer in the R&D department of a private Greek IT company. He designed and developed software solutions for more than 12 European Research projects under the FP7 and H2020 programmes, mostly in the eHealth and Security domains, later on becoming the Head of the Delivery team. His main research interests lie in the area of microservice, event-driven and streaming architectures.

Theofanis Chantzis

FANISTheofanis Chantzis earned his BSc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Technological Educational Institute of Central Greece, under the management of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2019. He has worked for some of the most reputable companies in the Commercial sector as a Head Sales Advisor, followed by the Industry Sector working for one of the largest oil companies in the Balkans as a Buyer in the Purchasing Department. He also is an experienced CAD software user, certified both for 2D and 3D. He joined the I-Sense Group in 2020 and is concerned with the I-Sense Group Project Administrative Management.

Aris Dadoukis

Dadoukis photoAris Dadoukis received his diploma in Computer and Communication Engineering from the University of Thessaly in 2007 and his MSc in Science and Technology of Electrical and Computer Engineering, from the same department, in 2008. From 2012 until 2019 he worked as a Researcher Engineer at the University of Thessaly (UTH) and the Centre of Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH). Since 2020 he joined the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) as a research engineer and he is involved in several European ICT Research Projects. In the past, he has participated in several EU projects including Fed4FIRE, Fed4FIRE +, FLEX, ForLab, MAZI, MED-GOLD and eCOMPASS. He is experienced in the development of testbed related frameworks for monitoring and management, as well as the implementation of OMF extensions for testbed management. His research interests lie in the area of Testbed management, Cloud Computing, DIY networks and Wireless experimentation.

Chrysanthi Spanelli

C. Spanelli 2Chrysanthi Spanelli is an HR Manager in the ISENSE Research Group of ICCS. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds an MSc in Organisational Psychology from the University of Kent. Through her studies, she examined aspects of psychological research into applied, social, and organisational psychology and gained a deep understanding of business related modules such as organisational behaviour and change management. Her duties among others include the selection and assessment of the organisation’s workforce, relevant methods and statistics, employee wellbeing, learning and development strategies, entrepreneurship, and people management.

Κonstantinos Stavrou

STAVROU FWTOΚonstantinos Stavrou holds a BSc degree from the School of Sciences - Department of Geology from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens since 2002. Since 2003 and for 13 years he’s been dealing with Geology as a Geologist and Geotechnical Designer. In 2016 he began his studies in the field of information technology and today he is an undergraduate student of the Hellenic Open University, Department of Informatics, planning to graduate in 2020. He’s interested in mobile development and software development in general, for various fields.

Paul Kuqo

CVPaul Kuqo is an undergraduate student at the University of West Attica, department of Informatics and Computer Engineering. He is an embedded systems developer at the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS), being a member of the Smart Integrated Systems Team of the I-SENSE Group.

Nikos Mitro is an undergraduate student of the National Technical University of Athens, department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is completing his diploma thesis and will receive his diploma at 2020. He is interested in software development, embedded systems and hardware design.

Evangelos Maltezos

maltezosDr. Evangelos Maltezos received a diploma from the School of Rural Surveying Engineering of National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2013, and a BSc degree in Civil engineering from the Technological Educational Institute of Patras, Greece, in 2007. He has also obtained a PhD from NTUA, School of Rural Surveying Engineering (2014-2019). Evangelos has been deeply involved in several commercial and research projects and currently, he is a researcher at the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS)/I-SENSE Group. He is also currently serve as a reviewer in high level international scientific journals and he has authored or co-authored a number of published research and technical papers. His fields of expertise are automated applications in remote sensing, digital photogrammetry, image and point cloud processing and computer vision.
