Junior Programmer for Virtual Reality

The I-SENSE group is one of the Research Groups of the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) and specifically the Virtual Reality Group is currently recruiting for:

  • a Junior Programmer. His/her role will focus on the implementation of various applications, while actively participating throughout the lifecycle of European projects.

“Junior Programmer”

The position responsibilities will include the following:

  • Development of software applications, with emphasis on VR/AR applications including also GUIs, middleware, client server solutions
  • Cooperating and coordinating with cross-discipline and co-located project teams for internal or project level activities
  • Manage everyday communications with project partners to organise work in project and partner levels
  • Create specifications and requirements for the needed applications
  • Create accompanying documentation and deliverables

Qualifications:

  • Electrical and Computer Engineering degree or Computer Science degree or equivalent with expertise on Software Engineering and Development
  • Experience on VR and/or 3D Graphics will be considered as a strong asset


Required Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of object oriented programming languages, mainly C++, Java
  • Experience in using and developing in 3D and gaming platforms (e.g. Unity3D, Virtools)
  • Ability to self-organize, while keeping in perspective the coordination with other team/project members
  • Ability to take initiatives
  • Excellent written and oral English language communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
