Employing virtual reality technology to revolutionise manual work

 

A European-funded project is promising to completely revolutionise productivity and working environments across Europe, thanks to its newly developed system, which combines product lifecycle management, ergonomics and virtual and augmented reality technology to startling effect.
The project, MANUVAR (‘Manual work support throughout system lifecycle by exploiting virtual and augmented reality’), included 18 partners and spanned 8 countries across the EU. Partners developed a modular, reconfigurable system that will support manual work across a range of industries. MANUVAR was funded by the European Commission under the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme and received more than EUR 7 million in funding.
