The validation trials of the platform and solutions developed during the course of the eVACUATE EU research project, in which AIA participates, took place on January 2017 at Athens International Airport – AIA’s Satellite Terminal. The solution consists of a complete system for the provision of efficient support for the application of safe and effective evacuation strategies at large public venues such as airports, metro stations, football stadiums etc. A resilient and seamless communication platform integrated to the mechanisms already in place, has been developed to allow communication with the theatre of the evacuation operations and other civil response units. The video of the evacuation exercise provides a visualization of the validation of the developed platform and solutions through the different evacuation scenarios.
