Dr. Amalia Nikolopoulou

Amalia Nikolopoulou photoDr. Amalia Nikolopoulou received her Diploma degree from the school of Chemical Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2008. She obtained her PhD degree in Operations Research from the Athens University of Economics and Business (AUEB) in 2016. She is working in the ICCS group on projects related to the field of logistics and supply chain management as well as applications for improved transport and mobility.

Her research interests focus on the design, development and application of mathematical models and computationally intelligent algorithms to aid rigorous decision making for transportation and logistics problems. She has published a number of articles in scientific journals and conferences while she is a teaching assistant at MSc programs at AUEB.

Aristeidis Oikonomou

Aristeidis Oikonomou photo

Aristeidis Oikonomou has graduated from the school of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2016. In his diploma thesis he developed an integrated monitoring system for forest areas. Currently he is attending the master degree in Control and Computing of the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens (NTUA). His technical interests include computer programming and software development, applications in embedded systems and electronics as well as game development and music technology.

Sophia Adam

Sophia Adam joined I-SENSE Group of ICCS, serving as a Personal Assistant of Group’s Head and Research Director. Since September 2016, she is a Communications Manager, responsible for the development and implementation of EU projects’ dissemination and communication concepts.

She is an all-round communications professional with experience in the Corporate Communications, Public and Media Relations and Event Marketing fields, both in-house and in a dynamic agency environment.

She is a graduate of the Faculty of Communications and Mass Media of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds an MBA from the University of Piraeus.

Dr. Nikos Dessipris

 MG 0201 GR Student ID Card 35x45 mmDr. Nikos Dessipris is a graduate of the School of Electrical & Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens. He holds an M.Sc. in Telematics and a Ph.D. in Image Processing, both from the University of Essex, UK. 

Experienced project Manager (PRINCE2 certified), who combines diverse skills in engineering/technology, business development and marketing, gained in international teams, with excellent presentation skills. Extensive work experience in multinational/multicultural environments. His research interests focus amongst others on high resolution imaging systems.

Dr. Anna Antonakopoulou

ANNA ANTONAKOPOULOUDr. Anna Antonakopoulou received her Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2006 from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Patras. In 2014, she received her Dr.-Ing. degree in “Ontological based privacy-aware access control of information systems” from the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, NTUA. During her PhD studies she has participated in national and European research projects. Her research interests include among others: privacy, access control, context-awareness, ontologies and applications of semantic technologies, cooperative systems and vehicular ad hoc networks. Currently, she is a senior researcher at the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS), I-SENSE group. She is also a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and has one year experience as pre-sales manager in Greek IT industry. She has authored several papers in international journals, conferences and scientific books.

Spyros Bolierakis

Spyros PhotoSpyros Bolierakis graduated from the Technical University of Crete (TUC) and he received his diploma from the department of Electronic and Computer Engineering School. His diploma Thesis was the “Modeling of an Integrated Combined Cycle system for electricity production using biomass as fuel”. Niki Georgiou

NikiNiki Georgiou is a Senior Researcher at the I-SENSE Group of ICCS.

She has obtained her Bachelor in Civil Engineering from the University of Patras in 2001 and her MSc on Analysis and Design of Earthquake Resistant Structures from the National Technical University of Athens in 2003. She has acted as prime contractor in a series of  technical studies in both the private and public works field. She has served as supervisor in large structural projects while acted as quality manager in many of them. She has participated in a number of European projects mainly dealing with remote structural inspection, structures assessment and maintenance and remote sensing. She is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece since 2001.

Dr. George Athanasiou

G. Athanasiou

Dr. George Athanasiou received the diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from University of Thessaly in 2005. In 2010 he obtained his PhD degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the same University. He spent several years working as a researcher in Academia (KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Information Technologies Institute at the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas, Electrical Engineering School at the Polytechnic Institute of New York University, and University of Piraeus Research Centre) and in Industry (Telefonica Research and Intracom Telecom). He was also co-founder and CTO of Aukoti AB, a Swedish startup on sensor networking and building automation. His research interests include the design and performance evaluation of wireless networks, optimization techniques, cross-layer design, smart-grid architectures, sensor networks, and vehicular networks. He has authored more than 50 publications in these areas in international journals and refereed conferences. Since September 2014 he is with the ICCS/I-SENSE group working as a Technical Manager in EU research projects. He is a member of the IEEE and the Technical Chamber in Greece.

Fay Misichroni

Ms. Fay Misichroni holds a Diploma on Electrical and Computer Engineering from National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). From 2006 to 2010 she worked as a Telecommunication Engineer at Siemens, one of the leading companies in the field of Industry, Energy and Healthcare, at both its Greek and German branches. Since 2010 she is a researcher at Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS), involved in several European ICT Research Projects, as software developer and technical manager. Her research interests include among others: interoperability, standardization, database design and web services. She is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece and currently she is pursuing a PhD at the NTUA.
