Nikos Mitro

Nikos Mitro is an undergraduate student of the National Technical University of Athens, department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is completing his diploma thesis and will receive his diploma at 2020. He is interested in software development, embedded systems and hardware design.


Evangelos Maltezos

maltezosDr. Evangelos Maltezos received a diploma from the School of Rural Surveying Engineering of National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2013, and a BSc degree in Civil engineering from the Technological Educational Institute of Patras, Greece, in 2007. He has also obtained a PhD from NTUA, School of Rural Surveying Engineering (2014-2019). Evangelos has been deeply involved in several commercial and research projects and currently, he is a researcher at the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS)/I-SENSE Group. He is also currently serve as a reviewer in high level international scientific journals and he has authored or co-authored a number of published research and technical papers. His fields of expertise are automated applications in remote sensing, digital photogrammetry, image and point cloud processing and computer vision.

Thanasis Douklias

my imageThanasis Douklias received his Diploma degree from the School of Electrical & Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2019. He is an embedded software and hardware engineer at the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS), being a member of the Smart Integrated Systems Team of the I-SENSE Group. His main interests include Linux kernel programming, developing FPGA and embedded applications as well as electronics.

Dr. Konstantinos Katsaros

KVK PhotoDr. Konstantinos V. Katsaros,  is a Project Manager and Senior Researcher active in the areas of network function virtualization, multi-access edge computing and software-defined networking for 5G networks. He also holds extensive experience in the areas of information-centric networking, IoT interoperability, smart grids, inter-domain carrier services and multicast/broadcast service provision over cellular networks. Dr. Katsaros has worked as a Senior Research Engineer for Intracom S.A. Telecom Solutions (Greece), and a Research Associate at University College London (UK) and Telecom ParisTech (France). He holds a BSc (2003) in Informatics, a MSc (2005) in Computer Science and a PhD (2010) in Computer Science, from AUEB (Greece). Dr. Katsaros has an extensive experience in European Research procedures, spanning FP6, FP7 and H2020. He has also published and presented his work in numerous academic conferences, workshops and peer reviewed journals, and has served as a reviewer for scientific journals and conferences. Dr. Katsaros has received scholarships and awards from Greek institutions and international companies.

Pantelis Kanellopoulos

Pantelis Kanellopoulos 480x480 Pantelis Kanellopoulos joined ICCS in July 2019 as a Communication and Dissemination Officer. From 2013 until 2016 he worked in a SME as Project Administrator in EU funded projects under Life Long Learning Programme (LLP), Europe for Citizens Programme, Erasmus+ Key Action 1 (KA1) as well as Key Action 2 (KA2). Within the same period, he was an active volunteer in Youth Exchange Programmes assisting to the inclusion of youngsters who faced the danger of marginalization.

Later on, he worked in the NGO sector as Communications Officer in EU projects funded under FP7, DG Connect and Horizon2020. He was responsible for managing Work Packages (WP leader) of Communication, Dissemination and Exploitation.

He holds a BSc in Economics from the University of Piraeus.


Valantis Tsiakos

0Valantis Tsiakos, has obtained a diploma in Urban Planning & Regional Development from University of Thessaly and a MSc in Geoinformatics from Harokopio University of Athens. He has been involved in various EU funded projects, emphasizing on the application of information systems in the environmental sector. His scientific interests include: spatial data infrastructures, remote sensing, standardization, environmental applications, citizen science and crowdsourcing. Valantis Tsiakos is working as a Scientific Project Manager, member of the Smart Integrated Systems & Communication Team of the I-SENSE group of ICCS.


Nantia Skepetari

SkepetariNantia Skepetari is an experienced journalist with a demonstrated history of working in the media production industry. She is skilled in Broadcasting, Storytelling, News Writing, Communication and Social Media. She holds a Bachelor Degree in “Communication, Media and Culture” Department of Panteion University of Athens. She continued her studies with Executive Programs in “'Digital Marketing” and in “Website and Marketing Actions for Small Tourist Units" from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She worked as a journalist for the Radio Station of the Municipality of Athens, Athens 9.84, covering reportage and presenting the Daily News and Good Life Shows and as a Communications Manager and Social Media Manager at a well-known Fashion Business Group. She has great interest in entrepreneurship, innovation and startup ecosystem. During her career she had the opportunity to exclusively interview many internationally acclaimed entrepreneurs, artists and scientists and she is an editor at At the ISENSE Group, she works as a Communication and Dissemination officer.

Giannis Kanellopoulos

JK photoGiannis Kanellopoulos holds a BSc in Computer Information Systems from the American College of Greece, an MSc in Software Engineering from the University of Nottingham, UK and an MBA from Durham University, UK. He has more than 20 years of experience in systems analysis, software engineering and data networking. He was the data network architect and project manager for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games and has participated in systems design for several banks and telecommunication organizations. John was a member of the IT team of the Piraeus Container Terminal S.A. for 10 years, participating in all major projects of the company. In the past, he has also been a part-time member of the Faculty of the American College of Greece (Deree College) for six years.

Alexandros Kordonis

al.kordonisAlexandros Kordonis received his Diploma degree from the school of Electrical & Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2009 and his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kyoto in 2015. His research interests at that time were nonlinear dynamics, power electronics and dynamic modeling. After his graduation, he gained industrial experience in design, simulation and experiments of power converters in the semiconductor industry. Since April 2019, he became a member of ICCS/i-sense group, working as a project manager in research topics.
