Dr. Ioanna Doutsou

DoutsouPhotoDr Ioanna Doutsou joined iSense team as a Senior Public Relations Manager. Having started her career as a journalist, she has worked for more than 15 years in key positions at the intersection of communication, media, education and digital marketing. She holds an MSc in Media and Communications Regulation & Policy from the London School of Economics and a PhD within the field of online social networks from Kings College London –for which she received a state scholarship award. Since 2005, she has been working as a communications professional for several companies, educational and research institutions in Greece and abroad (Athens, Brussels, London). She is experienced in managing all aspects of an institutions’ internal and external communications –from strategic planning, policy design and large scale events organization to web content production and management and community building- and has been involved in many national and European projects. Her career in communications has been occasionally combined with academic teaching activity in Greece and in UK in the fields of journalism, digital marketing, communication theory, media production, social media management as well as with publishing activities in research.

Spyros Athanasiadis

AthanasiadisSpyros Athanasiadis holds an B.Sc. in Informatics and Telecommunications, received in 2006, and an M.Sc. in in Management & Economics of Telecommunication Networks from National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA).  He has obtained a PhD degree from the National Technical University of Athens, School of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2017 (NTUA). His PhD Thesis focused on Microwave methods imaging of surface using Ground Penetrating Radar.He has been working in the private sector for more than 10 years in several positions such as: Web developer, IT consultant, Researcher, Presales engineer and Head of Automation and Control.

Giorgos Vosinakis

vosinakis 2Giorgos Vosinakis is a graduate of the University of Athens, Department of Mathematics. He has worked as a data scientist, UX/UI designer and as a researcher in European and Crown Commercial Service projects. His interests include data analysis, machine learning, single-board computers, user interfaces and design.

Chrysanthi Akrivou

akrivouChrysanthi Akrivou has obtained her Diploma in Chemical Engineering from National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2020. Her diploma thesis was conducted in the Food Chemistry and Technology Laboratory of Chemical Engineering School and was about incorporated bioactive compounds in nanoemulsions. She is interested in Process design and innovation, Unit operations, Circular economy, Environmental Research and Project management. She is a member of the Technical Chamber of Greece since 2020.

Katerina Voulgary

Katerina Voulgary graduated from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens as a computer scientist from the Informatics and Telecommunications department. Her thesis title was "Implementation of Short Block Length LDPC Code Encoder for Space Telecommand Applications" (VHDL). She worked as an intern at NKUA's noc centre and after that at Hellenic Radio and Television (ΕΡΤ). She was then hired by the Greek software company InTTrust as a junior DB administrator and C# developer and later as the main developer in zygi.gr making the company's linux distribution with Yocto Project. Her duties also involved soldering, quality tests, customer service and manual labour. She is currently working as a junior researcher and embedded firmware developer at ICCS. Her current interests lie in decentralized web, ethical technology and ways of tackling the surveillance capitalism.

Thanos Goulas

GoulasThanos Goulas works as a Junior Research and Project Manager at the I-SENSE Group of ICCS since November 2020. He has obtained his bachelor degree in Chemistry from the university of Patras in 2018 and his MSc in Environmental and Water management from Cranfield University in 2020. His MSc thesis focused on attitudes and perceptions of British consumers towards advanced smart water meters that provide information on household water conservation. His research interests lie in the areas of Circular Economy, Crowd Sourcing, Urban Development and Water Resource Management.

George Fekkas

George Fekkas is a senior researcher specialized in cyber security. He holds a BSc. in Computer Studies (1999) and an MSc. in Information Security and Computer Crime (2001) from University of Wales. George has over 20 years of experience in Cyber Security field. He has served as senior penetration tester, assurance manager and global coordinator assurance manager in a plethora of related cyber security assurance projects, domestic and abroad. The last five years he was head of security research, product manager, product owner and platform technical manager for products such as Enorasys Security Analytics (C2 detection) and Enorasys Lookup Service (Domain classifier), part of the Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service provided by ENCODE S.A. George joined i-sense/iccs Group in November 2020 working as Project Manager and senior Cyber Security Researcher for European projects in the field of Crisis Management and Security.

Konstantinos Petousakis

photo petousakisKonstantinos Petousakis received his diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Patras in 2018. His thesis was the development of a Wireless Sensor Network for collecting and analyzing medical personal data. His interests include embedded systems, hardware design and Internet of Things. He is currently a member of the I-Sense Group of ICCS and works as a Researcher and Developer.

Katerina Argyri

photo Katerina ArgyriKaterina Argyri is a Senior Researcher at the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS), and a PhD candidate in in silico Oncology at the school of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National Technical University of Athens (NTUA). She holds a diploma degree in Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences (NTUA) and an MSc in Applied Mathematical Sciences (NTUA). She has been involved in the design and development of in silico models for personalized oncology and their integration into clinical decision support systems within the framework of EC-funded projects CHIC and p-medicine.
She is also experienced in API development within the framework of the EC-funded project BOUNCE. She has published a number of articles in international peer-reviewed journals and conferences. Her research interests include decision support systems, in silico medicine and predictive modelling/analytics in natural sciences. She has been a member of the In Silico Oncology and In Silico Medicine Group since 2011 and a member of ISENSE Group since November 2020.

Dr. Andriana Gkaniatsou

Dr. Andriana Gkaniatsou joined ICCS in October 2020 as a Scientific Project Manager/ Research Associate.  She holds a PhD in Computer Science and an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from the School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh (UK). She has 8 years of research experience at the School of Informatics, University of Edinburgh (UK), where she was a member of the Laboratory for Foundations of Computer Science, the Artificial Intelligence and its Applications Institute, the Mathematical Reasoning Group and the Security and Privacy Group. Her research interests lie in the  areas of security, blockchain, usable security, fintech, data management and reasoning.
