Margarita Kostovasili

KostovasiliMargarita Kostovasili is a Transport Engineer/Consultant with 5+ years of experience in the management and delivery of infrastructure projects and programmes. She holds an M.Eng in Rural & Surveying Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA, 2014) and she has also attended an Internship in Photogrammetry and Transport Planning in the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV, 2013). Her scientific interests are transport planning and modelling, focusing on data analysis, driving behaviour and traffic simulation, combined with information technology and applications. Working as a Transport Consultant since 2016, she has gained significant exposure in management consulting practice, providing operational support and services to various clients across Europe. She has participated in several EC FP7 and H2020 research projects in the fields of Intelligent Transport Systems, Smart Mobility, Security and ICT. She joined the I-Sense Group of ICCS in 2020 and she is currently working as a Scientific Project Manager in R&D projects.

Katerina Karagiannopoulou

KaragiannopoulouKaterina Karagiannopoulou holds a bachelor degree in Geography and a MSc in Geoinformatics, both received from Harokopio University of Athens. Also, she is currently attending the “Web Developer” e-learning program at the National Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has been involved in the implementation and the delivery of EU funded projects, which were emphasized in the Environmental Risk Management and Sustainable Development policies. Her scientific interests include: Earth Observation and Image Processing methods, Environmental applications and mineral exploration on terrestrial environment. Katerina Karagiannopoulou is now working as a Scientific Project Manager, member of the Smart Integrated Systems & Communication Team of the I-SENSE group of ICCS.

Nikos Iliakis

nikos iliakisNikos Iliakis received his Diploma degree from the School of Electrical & Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2019. His diploma thesis was under the supervision of the I-SENSE group of ICCS and it was about the implementation of an Augmented Reality application intended to be used in logistics.

Currently, he works as a Software Engineer at the I-SENSE group. His interests include AR applications, Blockchains, and web development.

Barbara Basdeki

Barbara cWebBarbara Basdeki was born in 1983. She graduated with high distinction from the Department of Journalism & Mass Communications of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. She also holds a degree from the School of Early Childhood Education of the same University. She has worked in several newspapers and magazines, mostly as a cultural and free editor, as well as at the Press Office of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. She was Head of the Press and Communication Office of the Museum of Photography, Thessaloniki (2008-2016). She was a collaborator of the Marketing & Communications Department at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center in Athens, while she has also worked in similar departments for private companies, such as SQLearn and Journalists About Journalism (www.jaj.gr). Currently, she is completing a Postgraduate Programme in Cultural Organisations Management (MSc) at the Hellenic Open University.

Alexandros Papadogiannakis

Alexandros Papadogiannakis obtained his B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Ioannina in 2012. He holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science with expertise in Computer Systems from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering of the University of Ioannina.

His interests include parallel programming, operating systems, computer architecture and console emulation.

Dr. Lucyna Lekawska-Andrinopoulou

Lucy Lekawska Andrinopoulou

Dr. Lucyna Lekawska-Andrinopoulou holds a Diploma in Environmental Protection from Warsaw University of Life Sciences and M.Sc. in Bioinformatics from Stockholm University. She has received her Ph.D. degree from the Agricultural University of Athens in 2013 within the FP7 Initial Training Network “Lean Green Food”. She has gained professional experience working on environmental and sustainability projects in several scientific institutes and universities in Europe. Main areas of her professional expertise include renewable energy sources, sustainable food technologies & green chemistry, Life Cycle Assessment, sustainable development and wastewater treatment.

Nikos Maragos

Nikos MaragosNikos Maragos received his diploma degree from the School of Applied Mathematical & Physical Sciences of NTUA in 2005 and his Ph.D. (NTUA) in High Energy Physics and Lasers in 2014. He continued working as a post-Doctoral researcher in NCSR Demokritos until 2016. After that he worked for a while as a full-stack web developer. He joined the I-Sense Group of ICCS in June 2018 as an automotive software engineer.

Dr. Antonis Kalis

Antonis KalisDr. Antonis Kalis is working with ICCS since January 2020. He has previously been employed as an adjunct professor at Carnegie Mellon University, an Associate Professor in Athens Information Technology, and a visiting scientist in the Centre Tecnològic de Telecomunicacions de Catalunya. He has numerous journal and conference publications, IEEE tutorials and invited talks (e.g. in Bell Labs, Princeton, Carnegie Mellon University, etc.), a US patent, a Marconi paper award nomination, and the 2000 Chester Sall Memorial award of the Consumer Electronics Society.

From May 2012 to November 2018 he served as the Head of R&D of SignalGeneriX Lld, and as the technical director of Lynceus and Lynceus2Market, two EU projects on large passenger ship safety, coordinating research, development, manufacturing and integration activities, and acting as the projects’ spokesman in several occasions, including a Euronews Futuris documentary and a TEDx invited talk. The system developed through these projects was awarded the prestigious Lloyd’s List Global Innovation Award in 2014.

Dimitrios Karamitros

avatar small dimitris karamitrosDimitrios Karamitros received his B.Sc. from the School of Electronics Engineers of the University of Western Attica in 2004. He received his M.Sc. from the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2009, in the Telecommunications and Networks Systems domain. Before joining ICCS as a member of the I-SENSE group, he has been working as a Software Engineer in the private sector for almost 10 years; began his career as an Oracle PL/SQL developer and later went on to work as a Full Stack Software Engineer in the R&D department of a private Greek IT company. He designed and developed software solutions for more than 12 European Research projects under the FP7 and H2020 programmes, mostly in the eHealth and Security domains, later on becoming the Head of the Delivery team. His main research interests lie in the area of microservice, event-driven and streaming architectures.

Theofanis Chantzis

FANISTheofanis Chantzis earned his BSc. in Mechanical Engineering from the Technological Educational Institute of Central Greece, under the management of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2019. He has worked for some of the most reputable companies in the Commercial sector as a Head Sales Advisor, followed by the Industry Sector working for one of the largest oil companies in the Balkans as a Buyer in the Purchasing Department. He also is an experienced CAD software user, certified both for 2D and 3D. He joined the I-Sense Group in 2020 and is concerned with the I-Sense Group Project Administrative Management.
