Compass4D Final Event

One step closer to C-ITS deployment in cities

The European CIP co-founded project started three years ago and it is coming to an end this year with an exceptional final event and demonstration during the ITS World Congress in Bordeaux on 7 October 2015. For three years, Compass4D worked with European cities, road operators, vehicle fleets and road transport stakeholders in moving towards sustainable deployment of cooperative ITS (C-ITS) services.

Compass4D final event will show how the project is deploying and ensuring after-project life of its three piloted C-ITS services (Road Hazard Warning, Red Light Violation Warning, and Energy Efficiency Intersection) in the seven Compass4D cities (Bordeaux, Copenhagen, Helmond, Newcastle, Thessaloniki, Verona and Vigo) and how it is setting best practise in other cities and regions in The Netherlands, Finland, Spain and Belgium. The event will show the economic, environmental and social benefits of the Compass4D services in cities as well as bringing examples of current and planned investments between cities and the industry partners involved (fleet, service providers, telecommunication operators, etc.).

The final event will be organised in the form of a dynamic discussion with short introductions and contributions from high level speakers from the Compass4D consortium and local authorities of European cities. The agenda will be uploaded soon on the Compass4D website.

The event will be held in the Palais des Congrès (room: Amphi C) on Wednesday 7 October from 13:00 to 18:00.

The full-potential of Compass4D will be unleashed from 5-9 October 2015 on the urban and inter-urban public roads of Bordeaux with a live demonstration of its C-ITS services.
