Dr. Somya Joshi is a Researcher at the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems, Athens, Greece. She obtained her PhD at the University of Manchester, UK, in 2005. For her doctoral research she evaluated Virtual Reality systems within the context of Urban Regeneration. She worked with end-users in the design and deployment of the virtual model that was to play a dynamic role in participatory development of the region. Dr. Joshi's expertise lies in the area of ICT and Human interaction, She has a Bachelors degree in Psychology and Social Anthropology. Recently Dr. Joshi has worked with the Information Systems team at Cambridge University, UK, as a Post-doctoral research fellow, where she took the lead in research on the role of ICTs within Global Development Organisations. She is at present successfully involved in European research projects dealing with Human centred design in ICT. Dr. Joshi has published in many leading peer-reviewed Journals on Information Systems, and presented at International Conferences.
